Preservation Process

The preservation process begins from the moment you inquire until your product is finished and scheduled for pick-up, drop off, or shipment.

 It is important to understand that the process of drying, designing, and casting your flowers into resin takes time.  The average floral preservation takes anywhere from 4 - 6 months to complete dependent on business levels and season. 
  • To book your floral preservation send us an inquiry through the link below. You will receive information about our products and pricing. We will confirm that your desired event date is available.

    At the time of booking a $200 deposit is due. Your deposit will go towards the total cost of your order

  • The week of your event you will receive detailed instructions on how to store and handle your florals & bouquet prior to drop off.

    Unable to drop off your florals or bouquet?

    We also offer pick up in Santa Cruz, Monterey, & Santa Clara Counties.

    *Pick up fee applies based on time & distance traveled.

  • Upon receiving your florals or bouquet we will deconstruct and prep each flower for drying.

    The drying process takes approximately 2 - 4 weeks'; depending on the type of flowers in your florals or bouquet.

    Every flower dries differently.

    If you are considering floral preservation, be sure to let your florist know. Send us a message so we can give you more information on flower do’s and don’ts.

  • Once your flowers are completely dry we begin the design process. The design of your piece will depend on the type of florals and your layout preferences.

    Once we have created a design; a proof will be sent for your approval.

    Upon approval the remaining balance is due.

    *Resin production on your piece will not begin until final design approval & all payments have been received.

  • After design approval and final payment; production on your piece begins.

    Your flowers are individually & carefully placed into your resin design.

    Once the last layer of resin is poured, your piece will need to cure for approximately 7 - 14 days.

    The production process takes up to 4-6 weeks.

  • You will be notified when your piece is fully cured and is ready for pick up.

    A date and time will be scheduled for you to up pick up your Mau Loa preserved product(s).

    We also offer package delivery in Santa Cruz, Monterey & Santa Clara Counties.

Resin Casting Floral Preservation

Mau Loa Bouquets specializes in floral preservation by carefully drying, designing, then placing the flowers from your bouquet into resin. We specialize in wedding bouquet preservation, but also cater to special event & memorial flowers. We take special care of your flowers and work with each client individually to create a custom piece of art to gift or display in their homes.

We offer a wide variety of preservation products, from Statement Blocks, Table and Jewelry, Trays, Charcuterie boards, Jewelry Dishes, Ring Holders, Wine Stoppers, Book Ends, coasters, custom tables, and more.

Local Drop Off

Don’t worry about the stress of packaging and shipping your fresh bouquet the day after your event. We offer a bouquet drop off and pick up location in central Scotts Valley, California. Bouquet drop off dates and times are flexible and are scheduled individually with each clients upon booking.

Pick Up & Delivery

Unable to drop off your bouquet or pick up your finished piece from our Scotts Valley studio? No problem! We offer scheduled bouquet pick up and product delivery in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Santa Clara County for a small fee. Pick and Delivery fee based on time & distance traveled.

Custom Designs

Once we have dried your flowers, a custom design with your flowers is made based on the shape and sizes picked for your preservation piece. Designs are sent to you for approval and adjustments are made based on your preferences. You are welcome to participate as much or as little in the design process or leave it to the professionals. The decision is yours!

Shipping

Having your event locally but live out of state? No problem. We can still accept your bouquet here in California, and ship your finished preservation pieces to you. Standard UPS shipping rates apply.
