Where It All Started

Mau Loa Bouquets was founded by Hannah Rocha in the fall of 2020. During the peak of of Covid-19 Pandemic, Hannah found herself with more free time then she was used to. With schools being closed and her kids at home, she was constantly looking for new arts and crafts to keep them entertained. After watching a tutorial on floral preservation, Hannah decided to try it herself. She started by harvesting small wildflowers from nature walks taken with her two daughters. The flowers they picked were dried and used to create small trinkets, such as coasters & ring holders, & jewelry dishes.

In November of 2020, Hannah began working for a wedding venue in Santa Cruz, County. After nearly every wedding she noticed that most of the table florals & bouquets were left behind. Hannah took this as an opportunity to utilize the left over flowers for her resin pieces and designs. Eventually she started to preserve entire bouquets in the form of resin blocks, trays, and bookends. Hannah loved the idea of being able to make functional pieces of art with the vast variety of left behind flowers.

As time progressed Hannahs talent grew and so did did the demand for her services. Hannah began taking on clients in 2021 and the business has been blossoming ever since.

Hannah now offers many types of floral preservation pieces. She loves working with her clients to create custom & functional pieces to display in their homes.
